When the analysis file is blank: A wake-up call for Vietnamese football journalists

I'm used to starting a football news story with a concrete moment: one pass, one number, one name. Today, however, I received an analysis file labeled "Vietnamese football," and inside, everything was empty. Nine analytical sections—tactics, finance, results, league environment, regulations, management, risk, media, and the football ecosystem—all carried the same sentence: insufficient information. In 16 years of covering football, I have learned that empty spaces are never meaningless. An empty stand still speaks. A stat sheet with no data is also sending a signal. It shows that the information production chain broke at the source. It is not that the analyst lacks ability; it is that the original article did not offer a single detail to dissect. Today, I cannot argue with a blank dataset by adding more words. The only way to keep my profession is to tell the truth: no content, no match, nothing to analyse.
